The iliacus is the little muscle no one told you about...

The iliacus muscle connects to the pelvic bone and blends with the psoas, making up the hip flexor. A tight iliacus is directly linked to pain in the Back, Tailbone, Hips, Knees, Feet And Toes.

The problem is that the iliacus is prone to holding tension and has always been incredibly hard to target.

A note from our Founder:

After working as a Physical Therapist for decades, a pattern started to emerge, muscle tension in the core caused by too much sitting, overuse in athletics, or being too flexible was causing problems all over the body. I talk all about this in my bestselling book, Tight Hip, Twisted Core - The Key to Unresolved Pain.

After mastering how to release the iliacus and the other core muscles with my own hands for my clients, I wanted them to be independent in their care. I tested every existing tool for them, but none of them could provide the right amount of pressure to the right spot. This is the inspiration for the Hip Hook and the rest of the #FixYourHipKit.

Now you don't need my magic hands, you have all the tools you need to get rid of pain on your own.

FAQs

Is the book about the Hip Hook?

This book does talk about the Hip Hook as one tool for releasing muscle tension. (And it’s our favorite, but we’re not objective). If you have extremely tight hip flexors, or pain in your low back, pelvis, hips, or legs, this book will finally answer your questions about why you’ve only gotten temporary relief from various methods, plus offer solutions you can use immediately.

The way we move (or don’t move) our bodies can create tension in specific core muscles. Tight Hip, Twisted Core helps you to identify and correct these movement patterns to reduce pain and prevent future imbalance.

Does the book talk about stretches?

You’ll get stretches for the hip flexors and glutes, as well as alignment tips on how to perform some of your favorite stretches in healthier ways. When sitting, lifting weights, doing yoga… form and alignment matter. You want your stretches to help solve your problem, not create more of them!

Different techniques are covered, including when stretching may actually NOT be helpful! Many people think stretching is the answer to everything (often those of us who don’t stretch often…) But muscles respond differently to different stimuli: rubbing, pressing, squeezing, stretching a muscle all do very different things!

Does the book talk about different diagnoses and conditions?

This book discusses topics such as hip arthritis, labral tear, hypermobility, pelvic pain, scoliosis, and more. The information is applicable to all bodies as you start to understand the effects of muscle tension on the joints, spine, hips, knees, and alignment of the body and how this results in chronic pain.

You’ll learn how muscular tension can occur in daily activities, know which muscles to release and strengthen, as well as how to adapt your current exercises and posture to help reduce and prevent tension.

Do you have a digital version of the book?
